During the month of June, The Alzheimer’s Association urges everyone to “shine a purple light” for people dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Increasing awareness of the vast number of people that are (and likely will be) affected by dementia and Alzheimers’ diseases helps in a number of ways. Bringing these conditions to the forefront, without stigma, helps to make it part of a conversation about public health, and can add to resources and research funding.
