Please sign petition to ban Forced Arbitration Clause from Nursing Home Contracts

Elderly Woman In WheelchairMany consumers are not aware that nursing home admission contracts may include binding arbitration clauses hidden in the fine print.  These forced or mandatory arbitration clauses take away residents’ constitutional rights to file claims of nursing home neglect, abuse or other misconduct.

The arbitration firms may be selected by the nursing home industry, which can further undermine residents’ rights.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) can stop nursing home facilities that receive CMS funds from utilizing contracts that include mandatory arbitration.
